WHY CHOOSE OUR EQUIPMENT FOR VINEYARDS & ORCHARDS?
Purpose-built equipment for working between rows with maximum respect for the crop, the roots and the environment
What machinery does a vineyard or fruit-tree orchard need?
A vineyard or fruit-tree orchard requires implements designed specifically to work between narrow rows without damaging trunks, roots or branches. The basic range includes a decompactor or subsoiler to aerate the subsoil, a semi-chisel cultivator for secondary tillage, a vineyard harrow or fast harrow to remove weeds and incorporate plant residues, and optionally a roller for cover crops and a fertiliser spreader for supplying nutrients.
What models of vineyard and orchard machinery does JYMPA offer?
JYMPA offers a complete range specifically for vineyards and fruit trees: the Mintaka decompactor and the Alasia decompactor with cutting discs, the Osiris-V semi-chisel cultivator, the Almenara-V Pro, Almenara-V and Almenara-V Basic fast harrows, the Ecoter roller for cover crops and the Galileo liquid-fertiliser spreader.
What is the difference between the Mintaka and Alasia decompactors?
Both are decompactors designed for vineyards and fruit trees. The Mintaka is a classic decompactor that aerates the subsoil without disturbing the surface, promoting water infiltration and root development. The Alasia features cutting discs that slice through plant residues and surface roots before decompacting, delivering a cleaner, more environmentally friendly job.
What is the difference between the Almenara-V Pro, Almenara-V and Almenara-V Basic models?
All three are fast harrows specifically designed to work between the rows of vineyards and fruit trees. The Almenara-V Pro is the reinforced version for intensive use and more demanding jobs. The Almenara-V is the standard version, balanced in performance and price. The Almenara-V Basic is the most affordable option, ideal for operations seeking efficiency with a tighter budget.
Why use a decompactor instead of a conventional subsoiler in vineyards?
The vineyard decompactor is designed to aerate the subsoil without disturbing the surface, which respects the root system of the vine or fruit tree. A conventional subsoiler would over-disturb the soil and could damage surface roots. The decompactor promotes water infiltration and root development without disturbing the crop.
What is the Osiris-V semi-chisel cultivator used for?
The Osiris-V semi-chisel cultivator is designed to carry out secondary tillage quickly and efficiently between the rows of vineyards and fruit trees. It loosens the soil, controls weeds and prepares the ground after decompaction, all with a design suited to the narrow width of the crop lanes.
What are vineyard harrows and what are they used for?
Vineyard harrows are fast harrows specifically adapted to vineyards and fruit trees (Almenara-V Pro, Almenara-V and Almenara-V Basic models). Their purpose is to remove weeds and plant residues from the soil surface, incorporating them into the ground. They work at high speed between the rows of vines or trees, with a reduced width so as not to damage the crop.
What is the Ecoter roller and when is it used?
The Ecoter is a roller designed to manage cover crops between the rows of vineyards and fruit trees. It flattens and breaks down the cover crop without the need for herbicides, retaining the benefits of the cover (soil protection, biodiversity, moisture retention) while avoiding its competition with the main crop. It is a key tool in organic and sustainable viticulture.
Is JYMPA vineyard machinery suitable for organic viticulture?
Yes. The JYMPA range for vineyards and orchards is especially suited to organic viticulture and fruit growing: the Alasia decompactor with cutting discs works with maximum respect for the environment, the Ecoter roller lets you manage the cover crop without herbicides, and the Almenara-V vineyard harrows control weeds mechanically. Together, the whole set makes it possible to reduce or eliminate the use of chemical products.
Does JYMPA machinery adapt to any planting width?
Yes, JYMPA implements for vineyards and orchards are available in different working widths, adapting to the various row spacings common in vineyards (1.8-3 metres) and fruit orchards. Our team advises on the most suitable model and configuration according to the width of the planting lanes and the tractor power.
