Why choose our stone pickers?
Increase the value and yield of your land while protecting your most sensitive machinery
What is a stone picker and what is it used for?
A stone picker, also known as a stone remover, is an agricultural machine designed to gather the stones lying on the surface of the land. It removes stones ranging from 3 cm in diameter up to 300 kg in weight, leaving the field clean for cultivation, protecting sensitive machinery (harvesters, rotary tillers) and increasing the value and yield of the land.
Which stone picker models does JYMPA offer?
JYMPA offers three main stone pickers: the Dymantia for large and medium stones (up to 300 kg), the Mymertia for small stones (from 3 cm) and the Mymesia for medium and small stones. It also offers three windrowing rake models: Lexell (mounted), Donati and Halley.
Which stone picker should you choose according to stone size?
For large and medium stones (up to 300 kg) the right choice is the Dymantia. For small stones (from 3 cm up to medium sizes) the best choice is the Mymertia, which is automatic and very simple to operate. For an intermediate solution between medium and small stones, the Mymesia model is the most versatile.
How does a JYMPA stone picker work?
JYMPA stone pickers are hitched to the tractor and travel across the land collecting the stones from the surface by means of screening or mechanical pick-up systems. The Mymertia and Mymesia models operate automatically and very simply, while the Dymantia is designed for the heavy-duty collection of large stones. Once full, the machine unloads the material at a designated point in the field.
What are stone-windrowing rakes used for?
The windrowing rakes (Lexell, Donati, Halley) are the ideal complement to stone pickers for small and medium stones. They sweep the stones scattered across the surface of the land into windrows, allowing the stone picker to collect them in far less time and reducing the operating cost per hectare.
On what kind of land can stone pickers be used?
Stone pickers can work on any surface, although they are most commonly used on farmland: cereal fields, vineyards, orchards, olive groves and vegetable plots. They are also used in land-improvement works, the reclamation of abandoned land and the preparation of plots for new crops.
What benefits does clearing stones from a field bring?
Clearing stones from a field brings three main benefits: it increases the value and yield of the land by allowing more productive crops, it protects sensitive machinery (harvesters, rotary tillers, harrows) from damage caused by impacts with stones, and it makes all subsequent operations (sowing, irrigation, harvesting) easier by working on clean, uniform soil.
Are JYMPA stone pickers compatible with any tractor?
JYMPA stone pickers are available in different models and configurations that allow them to be matched to tractors of varying power. Our team advises on the minimum power required depending on the model chosen, the size of the stones to be collected and the characteristics of the land.
What maintenance do JYMPA stone pickers require?
JYMPA stone pickers are designed for minimal maintenance, with spare parts that are easy to install and low in cost. Their robust construction and the quality of the materials ensure a long service life, even under intensive working conditions with large stones.
Why choose JYMPA stone pickers over other brands?
JYMPA has more than 45 years of experience manufacturing stone pickers, with an international presence in more than 30 countries. Its machines are renowned for their reliability, robustness and ease of use, and are backed by ISO 9001 quality certification.
