Founding of JYMPA
Josep Maria Pradas founds JYMPA 1971 S.L. from a small metalworking shop in Castellserà (Lleida, Spain), together with his wife Maria Lluïsa Gené. At first the business carries out repairs and metal-carpentry jobs — railings and other work — for local customers, but with a clear conviction from the very start: to specialise in manufacturing agricultural machinery and grow beyond the boundaries of the village.
First patent for a forklift for small fruit cold-storage rooms
The first forklift for fruit cold-storage rooms is developed and patented, born from observing the needs of the farmers Josep Maria Pradas dealt with directly. Almost all of these facilities across Catalonia, Aragon and the north of the Valencia region are equipped with it, and it is manufactured until the early 1980s, when forklifts for goods handling (popularly known in Spain as “toros”) appeared.
The first JYMPA stone pickers
The first JYMPA stone pickers are developed and patented in response to the need to clear stones from fields during a period of land consolidation. The first demonstrations take place in Sástago (Zaragoza, Spain). These stone pickers are still part of our product range today in their most up-to-date versions.
New JYMPA subsoilers
As a complement to the stone pickers, the first JYMPA subsoilers are developed and manufactured. Over time, subsoilers have become the main soil-preparation machines in the JYMPA catalogue.
First participation in the FIMA trade fair
First trips abroad
First trips abroad, to Poland and Romania.
New premises
As the company grows, the workshop in the centre of the village of Castellserà becomes too small, and the decision is taken to move the offices and production machinery to spacious new premises on the outskirts of the town.
First exports to Mexico
Josep Maria Pradas travels to the Mexican state of Chiapas with an operator to commission the first stone-picker units ordered by the Mexican government and to run demonstrations before large numbers of farmers as well as government and banking representatives.
Expansion across Latin America and Europe
For more than three decades JYMPA maintains its sales presence in Mexico and expands across the whole Latin American market: Honduras, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Paraguay, Chile, Uruguay… At the same time it also exports machinery to EEC / European Union and Eastern European countries. In 2011 it begins manufacturing directly in Mexico to consolidate its position on the American continent.

Acquisition of Tractomotor
Acquisition of Tractomotor, a company that manufactures and markets agricultural machinery. With this move JYMPA broadens its range of soil-preparation products, incorporating this brand's highly regarded cultivators and disc harrows.
Manufacturing in Mexico
Partnership with a Mexican metalworking company to manufacture JYMPA agricultural machinery directly in Mexico, thereby consolidating the company's position in Central America.
First two-row subsoilers
Development and production of the first fixed two-row subsoilers.
Creation of the company CAP
Creation of the company Comercializadora Agrícola Pradas S.A. de C.V. (CAP) to market JYMPA and other brands of agricultural machinery in the Mexican market and begin expansion into the United States and Latin America.
Award for technological innovation
First prize for technological innovation in agricultural machinery at the Sant Miquel fair (Lleida, Spain) for the Optimax 3 multifunction combined unit, made up of a subsoiler, a fast harrow and a spike roller.

Development and production of the first Bravo Till subsoilers.

Membership of ANSEMAT (the National Association of Agricultural, Forestry and Green-Space Machinery).
1,000 subsoilers sold by one distributor
The Hungarian distributor Szegána KFT sells 1,000 subsoiler units since the start of the trading relationship in 2000.
The first Master Till combined equipment
In response to the arrival of high-power tractors on the market, the Master Till combined unit is developed — comprising a Bravo Till subsoiler, a fast disc harrow and a roller — specially designed for agricultural businesses with large estates and very powerful tractors.
